tajawal, meaning to wander or roam in Arabic, is an online travel platform founded in April 2015 that aims to dominate the travel market in the Middle East and North Africa region by providing a world-class mobile and online travel booking experience.
To understand why Boutros Arlette is used, one has to understand the branding concept behind tajawal. The tajawal branding concept is broken down to the foundations of design and travel. To reflect the youthful and dynamic personality of the brand, the logo is taken apart into geometric shapes, which are the fundamentals of design. These colorful shapes are arranged to point in different directions, indicating the growth of tajawal - traveling in all directions and limitless (beyond flights, hotels, and other travel products). Once arranged together these shapes turn into a modern-day compass: the logo, a dropped pin, informs the traveler of where they are in the world.
